Cinder is free and open-source software, released under the MIT License. You are free to use, copy, modify, and redistribute it, including for commercial purposes, as long as the copyright notice and license below are preserved.

Attribution

Cinder is a fork of OpenScreen by Siddharth Vaddem, also MIT licensed. The original recording and editor experience is upstream’s work; Cinder adds a hardware-accelerated export pipeline, auto-zoom on clicks, a keystroke overlay, and smooth-cursor interpolation. Both copyright lines are preserved below and in the NOTICE file.

Bundled components

Cinder bundles ffmpeg and other open-source libraries for recording and encoding. Each of those components is distributed under its own license, which remains in effect.
